Turkish Delight

Turkish Delight

Turkish delight, also called lokum, is a jellied confection with origins going back to the late 18th century. This soft jewel like sugar confection became popular among the people of Turkey, who call it lokum, at around the turn of the 19th century.
The sugar dusted jelly that is Turkish delight dissolves smoothly in the mouth, releasing the heady fragrance and floral taste of rose water.
Lemon, mint, orange, coconut, and nuts are all common additions.
